Thank you Debbie Ohi |
It's hard to let go of your baby, that bun you warmed in the oven and nurtured for months and then gave birth to. And then it grows up and goes through trials and tribulations, but you stick with it through thick and thin, sickness and health, for better or worse...oh...wait - forgot where I was going with this. just to send it out into the cruel world where people see it's faults and flaws, and after you raised it to be so good, too.
But sometimes, you just gotta kick
it out of the nest and hope it can fly!
Am I trying to tell you something here?
Why yes. Yes I am. *winks*
Come back on Monday to find out...
I love the picture, it looks and feels a lot like me.
ReplyDeleteRachna, yeah, it's a writer thing!
DeleteThat is 110% me every time I send my work to a reader. I always have to cut my disclaimers short and just hit 'send' :-D
ReplyDeleteLoralie, I have tons of disclaimers!
DeleteIt's so hard to let go...
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't wait until Monday. Teasers always hook me.
Jeanne, you can probably guess, but please do come back on Monday!
DeleteI'm feeling that way now about the new story I should be writing. It's in my head, but I'm not trusting myself to put it down on paper. :(
ReplyDeleteLinda, you are the winner of last years WriteOnCon! You are so good and I have faith in you. You can do it:)
DeleteOh, wow, Gwen. Your comment is so sweet. Thank you!
DeleteLetting go is like dropping your toddler off to preschool for the first day. You don't know who is crying more. You or the baby.
ReplyDeleteShelly, that's exactly how it is, LOL!
DeleteI'm a perfectionist, but when it's time, out it goes!
ReplyDeleteAlex, that's cos you're a pro!
DeleteI'm hoping your little one is having a safe and happy flight! Wishing him.. her.. it... luck!
ReplyDeleteJemi, thanks. I'm sure she's going to fly just fine:)
DeleteYour baby will fly! All the best to you, Gwen. Looking forward to the Monday surprise.
ReplyDeleteRomelle, thanks - and please come back on Monday!
DeleteOh yeah, it does take grit to finally let go.
ReplyDeleteJoy, it sure does. Writer's have to be especially brave, don't they?
DeleteOoh, what a tease! :) It is hard to let your baby go.
ReplyDeleteTalli, everybody likes a tease! Oh wait - or is that nobody likes a tease? Anyhoo, I hope you come back on Monday!
DeleteOMG but you hit the nail on the head. Letting go is sooooo hard!
ReplyDeleteKittie, it is so hard! But hopefully by letting go you don't lose a book, but gain a reading audience:)
DeleteInteresting way of present your thoughts. It certainly is a hard thing to do, to let go of the one you nurtured and raised!
ReplyDeleteCaroline, it certainly is. I wonder if it gets easier?
DeleteThanks for visiting my blog:-)
ReplyDeleteClicking send on my first submission was one of the most exciting and difficult things I have ever done...and then I got accepted and the editor said "there are only a few small changes" I about had a stroke... who was she to change my baby...haha :-)
