#IWSG and the #Creative Life

The first Wednesday of the month means it's Insecure Writer's Support Group Day! If you want to sign up, go HERE

The awesome co-hosts for this month's posting is: Raimey Gallant, Natalie Aguirre, CV Grehan, and Michelle Wallace!

And of course, thanks to our host, Alex Cavanaugh!

This month's optional question is: Besides writing what other creative outlets do you have?

Although I don’t have time for other creative  endeavors right now, I do really enjoy pottery throwing (it’s been years) and photography.

And speaking of creativity…

Did you know that in numerology, 2019 is an auspicious year? It's a Universal 3 year (2019=2+0+1+9=12 and 1+2=3), and according to what I've read, it's all about creativity, abundance, building, organizing, new ideas and transforming. Whatever we set our hearts on and work toward will come to pass!

I don’t know much about numerology, but the positivity of this message is something I can get behind. So this is the energy I've taken into the new year. I've started writing again. I finished a book I started two years ago, and a short story that has been tucked away. I have a lot of work to do before I can call these works ready, but I feel energized and hopeful.

What are your other creative endeavors?

What  are your thoughts on numerology?

  1. I'm certainly ready for all of that.

  2. I haven't done pottery in years, but I loved it. For now, I paint and work on smaller projects like refinishing furniture.

  4. I'll take positive thoughts for the year. Thanks for sharing them. I've always wanted to try pottery but never had the time. Have a great writing month.

  5. Very Interesting about numerology! It sounds like you're on quite an awesome writing and accomplishing roll!! Keep it going!

  6. Ooh, let's hope 2019 does bring all that! I've never tried pottery. I've painted ceramics, but I always thought it would be fun to get my hands all muddy and mold something. :)

  7. I am not too much of a numerology fan. I'll just take in all the positivity and creativity of 2019.

  8. I've always to do pottery throwing. I once looked into doing a class but found it pricey. One day. :)

    1. I took it in college and the cost wasn’t too bad. The cost on the outside though I’m guessing can be pricey.

  9. Thank you for the numerology information about 2019. Thank heaven the numbers add up to some very positive things. Transforming has been my main word for the past few months, so maybe this year will speed me on my way.

  10. Pottery is one art I have never tried. But there must be something to working and molding the clay that provides a glimpse into a slice of life, beginning in the earliest of times. The numerology info is interesting - I'm all for anything giving us a positive outlook going forward.

  11. Pottery is interesting in that it’s both utility and art. I love doing it but don’t have much of a talent for it. Given more time maybe!

  12. Hey Gwen,

Thought I'd make one of my rare appearances these days. That numerology stuff is most fascinating. I'm good with totalling up numbers really fast. I hasten to add. I do like the positive message that is conveyed with the number 3.

I find that photography can be a creative endeavour that can tie in nicely with writing. Coincidentally, I live near the city of Stoke on Trent, the pottery capital of the world!

    Happy writing, Gwen.

    1. This is rare indeed! And such a nice surprise. I read your January post about transformation and moving forward, so I think we're on the same wavelength.

I didn't know that about Stoke on Trent. I've never been there, but ever I'm in the area, I will be sure to grab (gently) a piece of pottery :)

  14. I don't know that much about numerology, but have had "charts" done in the past. It was always interesting to see what came out of them. So happy for you on getting so much done, and the attitude for the new year.

  15. I've never really done numerology, although my name and my birthday are both numerologically interesting. Hope you continue to have a great year!

    1. I've never really done it either. I just really like the message it's sending for this year.

  16. Oh, that'd be awesome if 2019 did, indeed, turn out to be an auspicious year. I already feel like I'm failing at it, though, haha.

And wow, that's amazing about all the writing you've accomplished so far this year! Best of luck with your book and short story! ^_^

  17. I think numerology is wholly bogus, but the positive message is great! Probably won’t be a great writing year for me, but 2019 is shaping up to be one of the more interesting in my life, in a good way, with some probable bad bits thrown in.

  18. "it's all about creativity, abundance, building, organizing, new ideas and transforming." Well, that explains a lot ;-) It's great that you've accomplished so much already this year.

  19. If it offers a positive, I'll take it!

    Pottery throwing? Now that's intriguing.
